A deep taproot legume that tolerates the cold and long periods of drought. Of the few varieties on the market, the best is LUPIN, a variety for which Co.pro.sem.el. is the licensee and manager. The first mowing provides an excellent fodder yield. It is often intercropped with alfalfa and cereals. It is also used as green manure.
